Hatha Yoga is a particular system of yoga from which several other styles of yoga originate. Whilst there is a more postural focus for this yoga with attention to alignment, building strength and flexibility, there is also a deep meditative side, as postures are held and breathed into. The Hatha classes are slower and more gentle with an emphasis on body alignment to ensure maximum benefits and to avoid injury. Any flow if practiced is very slow as opposed to moving quickly from one pose to the next as in normal vinyasa flows.
The use of props, such as yoga blankets, blocks and straps are strongly encouraged to allow the body to fully extend & relax.
